Hiya
With everything now being a bit post-covid, and us planning an AGM in April
next year, it's probably a good time to start looking at any changes to the
hacklab's organisational principles and policies. In practice this is
usually a constant and ongoing process, but we've had a bit of a hiatus
during the covid permacrisis.
So, our organisational principles and policies are outlined in our Articles
of Association, which we keep in git at...
https://github.com/hackerdeen/articles/blob/master/hacklab_articles.pdf
We decided a wee while ago that we'd use Github issues to propose and
discuss changes to the articles. These can also be used to discuss issues
further at board meetings or AGMs.
The "issues" can be viewed, added to and discussed at...
https://github.com/hackerdeen/articles/issues
...there are four issues there just now, nothing earth shattering really,
more just tweaks to help the hackspace run a bit smoother.
From these issues, we'll propose solutions, changes to the articles of
association, which will be implemented as pull requests for modifications
to the articles document. Once everyone is more or less happy with
proposed changes, as per any applicable processes.
Anyways, sorry, it all sounds a bit formal, it's not meant to be really,
have a look and please get stuck in adding comments and raising issues.
Just a bit of an email to explain this process generally and encourage folk
to get involved. Hope this all sounds ok :)
Cheers
Andy
Hey
I'll be along from 7ish, might be a flying visit though, depending on kid
shuttling requirements.
Fedverse node sounds a good idea.

Hi All,
I am attempting to schedule a good date for the AGM.
Our articles require that the AGM is held in the calendar month of April, so I'm proposing that we hold the AGM on the 4th April 2023 at 20:00 at the hackerspace.
This will need to be arranged at a board meeting before we can officially announce the meeting but I'd like to get feedback on the date, if there would be any major clash that we'd need to take into consideration.
Thanks,
Iain.
Hey
Hope you're doing fine. It's tuesday again, so it's open evening at 57
North hacklab.
Come along, usual place and time, hit us back with a reply and let us know
your plans if you fancy. I'll be in from around 7pm.
Suite H, Kettock Lodge
Innovation Park, Campus Two
Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, AB22 8GU
Happy hacking :)
Cheers
Andy
Hi everyone,
here is the pad for the funding application if anyone wants to have a
look or discuss it.

Any changes need to be done soon-ish, until the 3rd of November.
Thanks!

Hiya
Just a wee heads up, it's the 2nd Critical Mass Aberdeen tomorrow.
I went along last month and I'd totally recommend it, if you like cycling
of any kind, meeting a nice bunch of folk, or urban activism, I'd say come
along :)
It starts at 6pm from outside Marischal College, last friday of every
month. There were around 30 or 40 folk last week despite the sketchy
weather. I think some people went for a drink at 6 degrees north
afterwards.
It's around 10k, from 2 laps, but you could just do 1 lap if you prefer to
do 5k. It's a pretty leisurely pace really. The map and numbers from
Strava on my phone last month looked like:

I'll be heading along, see you there if you're coming too, more the merrier
:)
Sorry if you knew about this already, or if you live too far away to make
it.
Andy
This is ace, good work!

Hi, Hibby.
I'll be in tonight, demonstrating to Tom that the two DP 'modules' on my
shiny new Framework laptop don't work - Otherwise it's the best laptop
I've ever had :-)
Bye,
Tony.
