Hi All,
I am calling a board meeting for the 26th July 2022 to be held at 20:00 in the space.
This is for the purpose of finding a way to resolve our ongoing issues with access to the bank account.
Options available are to put more effort into RBS or to open a different account that is a better fit for the way we wish to use it.
This is an urgent issue in my opinion, therefore the requirement for 7 clear days can be waived according to article 81.
Thanks,
Iain.
Hey folks,
One of my acquaintances, based in Fort William, is looking for a hackers in
that region. So far without luck Does anyone know of a Hackerspace in that
part of the country, or knows individuals who are thinking of a setting up
one?
I understand it's a long shot, but perhaps through this network we can help
her out.
Thanks,
Wouter
Hi, Kevin.
I'm coming into Aberdeen today (Thu) and I can drop off the laptop I
offered to give Vicky at the HackSpace on Tue night if you want?
I can take it to the Space or drop it off at yours if you'll be in?
The only problem with it is that the secondary Radeon GPU is faulty and
it won't run for long unless you blacklist the "radeon" module. It's got
Ubuntu-MATE 20.04 on it with the "radeon" module backlisted and works
fine: It's an Intel core-i5 with 8GiB RAM and a very nice machine.
Bye,
Tony.

Hi All,
I have identified some items for disposal from the hackerspace and catalogued them in the online vortex of doom index.
You can see the full list of items pending disposal at:
https://vortex.57north.org.uk/?action=list
For convenience, here is the list of items that have been added today, with their disposal date:
2 iMac A1224 (2007) 2022-08-16 00:00:00
3 LG Flatron L1710B Monitor 2022-08-16 00:00:00
4 Hanns G HU196D Monitor 2022-08-16 00:00:00
5 3 Level Sashlock 2022-08-16 00:00:00
6 Motion Activated Toilet Night Light 2022-08-16 00:00:00
7 3x RGBW LED Controllers 2022-08-16 00:00:00
8 Clip-on Logitech Soundbar 2022-08-16 00:00:00
If you wish to claim any item, send a mail to the list. I will update the index with a delayed disposal date to give you time to collect the item, and link to your claim email from the index entry.
If you're happy for these items to be disposed of, you don't need to say or do anything and that will happen. The latter 4 items on this list have sat in the Vortex of Doom box for months, if not years, and I'm looking forward to getting some clutter removed from our shelves.
Thanks,
Iain.

I'll be in, tinkering with my RockPro64 and it's new eMMC module ;-)

Hi
I'll be in, about 6 or 7 I guess, for the first time in a few weeks.
I'll be tinkering with web stuff, pondering the vortex of doom and
reading up on the laser cutter. Might also try and 3d print some
skirting board tops.
See you there :)

Hi,
I am in space and will be until probably the middle of the afternoon, I
am going to be futzing with my 386 and some crt monitors (tv's sadly)
while I am here.
Once todays Tour stage starts the noises from that will be on.

What is Climate Camp Scotland?
Climate Camp Scotland is an autonomous organisation organising for climate justice and against fossil fuels in Scotland. Their main aims are:
- To prevent the expansion of Scotland’s oil & gas industry and ultimately shut it down.
- To see a just transition for workers in the fossil fuel industry.
- To build bridges between workers, front-line communities, and the climate movement.
- To normalise mass direct action for climate justice.
This summer, Climate Camp Scotland will be taking action against some of Scotland’s biggest polluters. The camp will create a base for disruptive
action against the fossil fuel industry. It will also offer a space for workshops, discussions, music, art, and visioning a future beyond oil.
Climate Camp Scotland wants to build a space where people can learn, share ideas, and take action together.
How to get involved?
If you can not come to the Radical Café on Saturday to find out more, you can register for the camp here: [1]https://actionnetwork.org/events/
climate-camp-22. Upon registration, you can indicate whether and if so how you would like to contribute to the camp. By registering through
ActionNetwork, you will also be kept up to date in the next weeks and hear from us about the exact location of the camp on the 28th of July.
For those on facebook, there is also a facebook event that is an alternative way to share within you network: [2]https://www.facebook.com/events/

Hi All,
I'll be in the space this saturday 16th doing a bit of organising. The main areas of focus for me will be:
* electronic component shelves
* vortex of doom
There are limited crates of Club Mate available if you would like to get hold of a crate all for yourself. These are £32.50. You have the option to swap one or two bottles from your crate with Club Mate Zero (new, no added sugar). There is one crate of Club Mate Cola left, also £32.50. Please let me know if you'd like to reserve a crate. I imagine Hibby will send an email shortly with instructions for those only wanting a single bottle at a time, the space also has stock again.
I will also make an attempt at doing some radio, including making some antennae.
Thanks,
Iain.
