Hi,
We have now Fusion360 running on our new desktop computer.
Autodesk Fusion combines CAD, CAM, CAE and PCB into a single, integrated cloud software platform. It includes all the tools that you need to go from design to manufacturing.
We do have a personal use license, which restricts us to a maximum 10 active files at any given time. Once the limit has been reached, a file needs to be deactivated, before a new file can be created. At any given time later, the deactivated file can be activated again.
Fusion is a great tool for designing models, which can be saved into STL files, and then processed in the 3D printing software.

Hello, hi, howdy
Plans are afoot, and to hand, for a hacklab party! Save the date, Saturday
the 7th December, from the afternoon onwards, in the space.
So it's not a christmas party, per se, as that offends the damn atheists,
and we don't want that*. Also, it's not really a doo, as that would
suggest some sort of societal norms, in which case it must be a don't. So
that means it's a Winter Don't, like a Christmas Doo, but more lit, chill,
riz and those sorts of words that use of makes my kids grimace.
Some things...
- A hat competition
- Afternoon hacking
- Evening partaying
- Bring a bottle
- We'll probably order in Pizza for dinner
...more details closer to the time.
Hope you can come. Happy hackmas, see you there :)
*We all know it's really the crazy atheists that start all the wars and
stuff, the non god fearing scumbags!
Heya
I'll be in around 8pm too.
See you then :)

I haven't seen the usual chatter; will anybody be around this evening? I'd
like to return a tool I borrowed a few weeks ago as well as access other
tools.
I am tidying up and wondered whether any guitarists here.
I have an old effects peddle which I tried to fix for a friend but with
no joy.
I think the bucket brigade delay chip has gone which are not easy or
cheap to come by. Bit the case is solid and maybe someone has an idea
for a project where the rest of the system would be usefull/
Attached is the schematic and a picture.
Would anyone like it?
Lawrence
Hello friends!
Some time ago, Wouter dropped off an HP desktop at the space for us to use!
It has 16GB of RAM and I think an I5 something or other and is quite compact in volume. There's also a CD drive in case you're like me and want to rip some discs to flac. I've booted it with Debian live and it's lovely.
I'd like to request up to 50 pounds from the hackerspace bank account to get this up and running as a user station beside the printer running Windows & MS Office. I think I'll try using that big 4k tv as the monitor too, that seems fun.
Why Windows? We have a variety of interesting people come through the space and I think there's value in having a familiar computer they can use that we know can print. It would be nice to have a machine that supports fusion360 for 3d modelling too, as people seem to like that!
There's no reason we can't dual boot into a linux environment too.
This spend for a cheap 500GB NVME drive [1] and probably won't come up to that much, but I'd like a little wiggle room for any accessories we may need to get it running.

Hey :)
Happy Tuesday, it's open eve at the space today. Bit better weather this
week, so no Kharkovchanka snow cruiser required.
We're located at...
Suite H Kettock Lodge
Innovation Park
Campus Two
Bridge of Don
Aberdeen
AB22 8GU
...and there is blurb on finding us on https://www.57north.org.uk/contact
and some more on https://www.57north.org.uk/open-evenings . Hit the buzzer
(Suite H) and someone will come and let you in after a brief wait.
If you're new, you might want to bring a laptop, and/or something to tinker
with. If you're not new, ping back a reply to tell us what you'll be up to
and maybe what time you'll be in.
I'll be along from around 8pm tinkering with my desktop and swearing at
google maps API keys.
Does anyone need a lift or anything?
Cheers

Hi, Hibby.
I'll be in about 8pm trying to setup a private Meshtastic LoRa channel
on my LoRa radios.
Bye,
Tony.

Hi,
I would like to dispose of some things from the office. Please shout if you would like anything.
• Synology branded 4GB ECC SOD DDR4
• Cisco WAP321
• Cisco AIR-AP124AG-E-K9
• Cisco 1801 ISR
• Linksys SPA942
Any of these items could be yours if you reply to this mail and it's not already been claimed.
I am also *looking for* a 17" or 19" CRT monitor in good condition, or at least a state that will clean up to being in good condition, if you have one of those you'd like to not have anymore.
Thanks,
Iain.
