Hi all,
I'm a newbie to programming/3D printing and I've had a project in mind for a while- making a bluetooth polytonic greek keyboard.
A unicode block for polytonic greek is available (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_Extended), but as I'm a novice I don't know if this would be helpful for creating my keyboard.
I guess I need help in the following:
1) What to buy
2) 3D printing polytonic greek keycaps
3) Ensuring that what I type on the keyboard comes out as ancient greek on my computer
Any help/guidance on this project would be much appreciated!
Kind Regards,
Jamie
Hi,
I'm 'hardening' up a server, and Tom has done some Pen-Testing for me.
If you have time, please attack:
informatics.plus.com
This is a server I've configured for "noVNC" and "SSH" on obfuscated
ports to keep script-kiddies at bay, but easily discoverable by port
scan. I'm running "fail2ban" on "sshd" and "apache2" services.
I know a bit about defending "SSH", but SFA about defending "Apache".
I'd appreciate any help/advice and will buy beer and/or Club Mate for
anyone who gets in and leaves me a note how to block the attack in:
/root/you_left_the_back_door_open
Thanks,
Tony.

Hi, Midder.
I'll be in with my RockPro64 trying to remember how to use "uboot" :-)
Tony.
Hi
It's Tuesday, so it's 57N open night, we're open already, so come on along
anytime.
Just press the "H" bell at the front door, and someone will come and let
you in. You can usually tell from the twitter, if the space is open, at
https://twitter.com/57northhacklab
All the normal covid stuff applies, y'all know the score by now.
Happy hacking!
Andy
Evening All
Happy Tuesday, it's 57 North Hacklab Open Evening.
Come along, email and let us know your plans if you fancy.
All the usual covid blah blah applies, precautions and check-in with the QR
code and stuff. We need to be sensible, it's not like it's a work meeting
at Downing street, so we best avoid hard drugs, flaming sambucas, naked
dancing, singing happy birthday, and that sort of thing.
See you down the hackspace, if you're heading down. I'll be there from
around 7pm, probably muttering about web services and reading stuff I don't
understand on stack overflow.
Cheers
Andy
Hi
I noticed in Lidl they've got Parkside 12v dremel-like rotary tools, has
anyone tried one of these?
It seems like a good deal at £17, I've never used a cordless rotary multi
tool though. They had loads of them in the wellington road branch, though
I think it's last week's lidl in the middle offer.
Anyway, just in the off chance anyone else has tried one, thought I'd ask,
before taking a punt.
Cheers
Andy
Evening hackers
Hope everyone's well.
It's Tuesday again, so 57North's open day / evening. I'll be along,
probably about 7 or 8, not totally sure though. Let us know your plans, or
just see you there.
Please don't forget to follow all the normal covid measures, and scan the
QR code on arrival.
Also, as mentioned by Tom & Nick, ICYMI, folk will be on WorkAdventure on
Friday at
https://wa.tabascoeye.de/_/global/raw.githubusercontent.com/ScottishConsula
as a Scottish Consulate gathering. Not to be confused with the Scottih
Embasy, which is a pub downtown on Trinity Street, I've not been in, it
looks fine, but I don't think they have an ambassador serving Ferrero
Rocher on silver platters.
Cheers
Andy

Excellent, I'll be there mulling wine or swilling whisky

Hi, Andy.

This is quite similar to what I want to do!
Bye,
Tony.

Hi
Hope everyone had a great xmas and new year.
It's Tuesday again, so hackspace open night. I'll be along around 7 or 8,
probably thinkering with some web services stuff, and maybe some signage
bits n bobs, if screen fatigue sets in. Hit back with a reply if you're
heading in too, let us know what's on the cards.
Anyone got any fun projects they're starting this year?
We're in the same ole covid level as ever, so please follow the normal
guidelines and do the track and trace QR code thing when you arrive.
See you there
Andy
