Hello
Happy tuesday, it's open evening at the hackspace today, come along and see
what's occurring. I'll be along at about 7:30.
There is some useful blurb at https://www.57north.org.uk/open-evenings Hit
the buzzer (Suite H) and someone shall come and rescue you from downstairs
after a brief wait.
We're at...
Suite H, Kettock Lodge
Innovation Park, Campus Two
Bridge of Don
Aberdeen
AB22 8GU
Hit back with a reply if you like, let us know your plans, if you're coming
along. If you've not been before, that'd be lovely to see you, perhaps
bring a laptop or something to tinker with. If you need a lift, let us
know here too, good chance someone will be able to help out.
Cheers
Andy
hello there,
It's Tuesday, so we will have our weekly open night.
If you've not heard of us, 57North get up to a range of activities on
Tuesday nights in our shared workspace, including (but not limited to)
social contact, programming, manufacturing weird things, consuming sugary
treats and the odd can of alcoholic beverage. Typically we kick off at 1930.
We're located at:
Suite H
Kettock Lodge
Innovation Park
Campus Two
Bridge of Don
Aberdeen AB22 8GU
Instructions for getting in are here:
https://www.57north.org.uk/open-evenings .Hit the buzzer (Suite H) and
someone shall come and rescue you from downstairs after a brief wait.
There's plenty parking, but if you don't have transport get in touch either
here or IRC and someone may be able to help you out! The number 1 bus comes
nearby too.
If you're new, I'd suggest you bring a laptop, and perhaps a project you
want to work on.
If you're not new, shoot a reply to the list and tell us what you'll be up
to, and maybe consider bringing a friend. Please mention a time if you'll
be in before me!
Today is national pie day, so I shall bring a raspberry pi (not quite the
same, I know!) And try to hook it up to a 15y old digital photo frame I
found in a cabinet this weekend. What are you up to?
I can offer a ride to anyone from the city centre, leaving George Street
around 715pm and returning around 9pm.
Drop an email to tell us when you'll be in and what excitement you're
getting up to?
Cheerio,
Wouter

be careful if you venture out to the space.

If you need a lift, just reply here, or shout on IRC.
Not really sure how busy it'll be, guess some folk are away still,

Hello friends
You may have heard already, or have seen on the website, but we're delighted to be bringing back NorthernRST. We're on for Saturday the 9th of December. The event will be hosted at the luscious and spacious 57 North Hacklab in Aberdeen see https://www.57north.org.uk/our-space for more details about the location.
This time we will focus on hearing from our community, sharing our knowledge, experience and passions. Our schedule this time will be looser, we will integrate talks with dynamic “unconference” content.
We are not going to do a formal CFP this year, instead if you have an idea of a talk or project that you'd be keen to share, give us a shout on the email address below. We are going to run a Fire Talks format, with all talks are expected to be a total of 20 minutes and supported by slides.
If you would like to share something with the community please reach out to us on the address below.
Some of you have made suggestions already, thanks - we'll get back shortly!
We'll add more info to the website at https://northernrst.com/ when we have it, but we'll also keep you updated via email.
The easiest way to get in touch is just by emailing orga(a)northernrst.com
Thanks & much love
NorthernRST
Howdy!
While we’re not doing anything officially on Friday, I am going to spend the day Working From Hackerspace and would love you to join me!
I’ll be doing a little bit of my day job, a little bit of Debian, a little bit of ham radio and making a few litres of hopefully competent coffee.
I’ll make sure I have some pastries around for breakfast & snacks and then most likely head over to Crema [1] for lunch.
I don’t yet have a Friday night plan but I’m open to suggestions for after I’ve collected both Nick and Kenny.

Hi
The folks at AAoD gave us an old robot, to see if anyone wanted to try
to fix it up or tinker with it. It's a Toymax R.A.D. from 1998, which
must have been an absolutely awesome toy back then.
I made a wiki page for it at...
https://wiki.57north.org.uk/doku.php?id=projects:rad_robot
It's sitting on the top shelf or the main sheving, kinda near the
soldering stations, next to the giant robot arm, see
https://wiki.57north.org.uk/doku.php?id=projects:giant_robot_arm
So we seem to now have a shelf for old Robots, which feels like a
thing every hackspace should have :)
Anyway, it's there for anyone who fancies.
Cheers
Andy
