Heya
Happy Tuesday, hope you're well. It's open evening at the hackspace today,
hope to see you there. I'll be in around 8pm, but maybe a little earlier.
Email back with your plans if you like.
I'll be tinkering with bits and bobs, and also sorting through the kind
donations from Gavin, that he dropped round last week, including lots of
good books, so we'll maybe relocate books to the lounge, as we've too many
to fit in the bookcase now.
There is some good info about it at...
https://www.57north.org.uk/open-evenings
We're at:
Suite H, Kettock Lodge Innovation Park,
Campus Two Bridge of Don,
Aberdeen, AB22 8GU
If you've not been before, how no? Come along and see what's going down,
and also up, and very possibly sideways. Bring a laptop or something to
tinker with.
If you need a lift, reply back to here, fair chance someone will be able to
help out.
Cheers
Andy
Hi all!
Out ever patient hosts AAoD[1] are holding a fundraising quiz night for the local Fibromyalgia support group and Aberdeen Burns Society (Rabbie Burns that is) at the Ashvale on Friday 18th October.
Tickets are £17 pp which includes your Ashvale supper. If anyone is interested please reply on list/privately and I can put you in touch to get tickets.
They are concerned about low numbers so it'd be great if we could help them out and get a group going - they're a great charity and very worthy of support, aside from hosting us!
Cheers,
H

Hello :)
It's Tuesday, so open evening at the hackspace again.
There is some handy blurb at...
https://www.57north.org.uk/open-evenings
We're at:
Suite H, Kettock Lodge Innovation Park,
Campus Two Bridge of Don,

2°06'38.2"W wearing a pink carnation and a jaunty hat, then a masked
team will bundle you into a van and take you to the space.
I'll be along around 8pm, maybe a bit before. Will be tinkering with
MicroPython and drinking coffee. Let us know your plans or whatever.
Heads for tomorrow evening's Python User Group, 6pm at ONE Codebase,

See you this eve.
Andy
Hi,
I've just watched a discussion about "Meshtastic" on Destination Linux:
> https://meshtastic.org/docs/introduction/
@Iain, are you interested or have you already used something similar for
alerting volunteers to go to a resilience hub and start up the generator
during a winter storm during a prolonged power-cut when all the phone
networks are down?
Bye,
Tony.
Hi,
I'll be in around 3pm to hack on my website theme for a couple of hours.

Hi
I'll be along, probably about 8pm too. Will try and finish sorting
the donated bits from last Thursday, sorry, it's a bit messy, there is
currently a table still covered with miscelaneos Arduinos, shields,
hats and screen. Also a bit of van unloading I guess. If I start
complaining about the Windsor protocol, and digital paperwork for B2B
and B2C for shipping stuff to Northern Ireland, tell me to shut up, as
it's a hell world that's best to not know about.
See you in the space :)

Hi
Asking for a friend, but is anyone looking for web development work in
or around Aberdeen? This would be staff or contractor, office based
or hybrid, at a medium sized media agency, they're a nice bunch of
people. Some experience of fullstack, PHP and ideally CraftCMS.
Let me know if you'd be interested and I'll pass on your details.
Thanks
Andy
Hello
Oddly enough, 7 days after the last one, it's Tuesday again, so open
evening at the hackspace.
I'll be there from around 6pm.
The details of Open Tuesday including 'getting here' are available at
https://www.57north.org.uk/open-evenings
We're at...
Suite H, Kettock Lodge Innovation Park,
Campus Two Bridge of Don,
Aberdeen, AB22 8GU
It's the AGM this evening too, at 8pm, we've got an agenda at
https://github.com/hackerdeen/meetings/blob/master/2024/2024-07-30_AGM_Agen…
See you there if you're coming :)
Cheers

hi folks,
I have a suspicion my home office does has issues with CO2 accumulation
when windows/doors are closed, which makes me sleepy. It is that, or my
work is not challenging enough ;-)
To rule out the latter, I would like to test the indoor air quality for a
couple of days. Has anyone got perhaps an unused CO2 sensor lingering
about, or Chinese rip-off of the SCD-40 sensor, that I could use for a
couple of days?
Cheers,
Wouter (Aberdeen)
