I had a Meshtastic node on 868 at home for a while. Wasn't much activity in
Aberdeen then so I turned it off... moved it over to TinyGS lora satellite
receiver but not many sats on 868 so turned it off again 😅
Have a TinyGS on 433 now and a similar setup as Hibby for APRS.
Plenty of excuses to acquire more SBCs!
Morning Tony!
Funny you mention meshtastic - I've just received a T-Beam supreme [1] for
use with a different firmware on the 400MHz amateur band for our
established 'APRS' service[2] for location tracking, messaging, brodcast
bulletins etc.
It seems like meshtastic is on 868MHz ISM band in the UK so my unit won't
be compatible.
It's quite a cool project, and I'm seeing an uptick of people interested
in amateur radio because of it!
There are some Aberdeen based Meshtastic people -

Hi,
I've just watched a discussion about "Meshtastic" on Destination Linux:
@Iain, are you interested or have you already used something similar for
alerting volunteers to go to a resilience hub and start up the generator
during a winter storm during a prolonged power-cut when all the phone
networks are down?
Bye,
Tony.
