I have seen the aurora a few times from parents' place in the light blue bit between
Huntly and Turriff and once from Scotstown Moor (but that only worked with very bright
aurora and completely clear night - no chance of seeing them there most of the time).
Out past Alford looks to be the best bet closest to Aberdeen. Or RSPB Troup Head is in the
dark bit of coast between Banff and Fraserburgh and has a car park.
