Hey Tony,
I've (unfortunately!) not had a chance to visit the hackspace in a while, but caught
this email in an unrelated search and figured I'd offer some advice on antenna
experimentation.
Hi, Harley.
Sorry I've taken so long to reply, but I really appreciate your advice!
There's a thriving mesh in Glasgow and I've
been fortunate to pick up a few nodes over RF (plus loads more on the `msh/Scot` MQTT
topic).
The stock antennas are often poorly bandmatched, so I'd really suggest picking up
something like

Watch out for the connector types, but you can directly attach one to a T-Echo with the
"868Mhz SMA M" variant.
OK, just ordered three of them to try out :-)
You could also use a

to a Heltec V3 node. I've had *excellent* results running a 'base station'
node at home with the aforementioned combination, extending my range to ~7km.
(

with an external antenna)
I received a LILYGO T-Deck Plus earlier today, so have been excited to continue
experimenting with this- hopefully won't be too long before I'm able to visit
youse in Aberdeen :)
I'll look forward to that!
Bye,
Tony.
