The door code didn't actually get changed yesterday. At the moment the old code still works.
Both the old/current code and the new one that might become valid at some point in the future are in hackhub at https://hub.57north.org.uk/hub/door
The unlock button there now works to open the back upstairs door so all members should be able to get into the space any time again (without needing a physical key).

I go the extra mile.
Usually because I missed the turning I was supposed to take.
A little while back there was some discussion of the fact that the space had some money and we could maybe spend some of it. My suggestion was to get some metalworking kit.
We can't do any welding, or messing about with angle grinders, in the current space, but I think we could do that kind of stuff outside.
I've started putting together a shopping list:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1aN45uawBxfwGDv5QHeQNBai381cBeo6XVzb…
What I've called "minimal setup" there is actually quite a long way from actual minimal setup. You can get a (crappy) stick welder and an angle grinder for less than £100. It's more minimal setup that would actually be good/convenient enough I'd be likely to use it rather than going out to parents and borrowing kit they've got. Less self centred approaches to deciding what we should get would be welcome :)
Things I've put on that list are what I thought looked best after a few minutes of googling, there are probably better/cheaper options. I'm hoping you lot can help with finding them... I'd really like a better/cheaper option for curtains/screens; those look pretty flimsy, and I don't like idea of spending ~1/5 of budget on them but I haven't yet found anything better.
My preference would be "minimal" plus extras down to getting a drill. That would cost about £1000.
Do we still have money that we could spend on this? (I know there was unknown value of electricity bill and some other things outstanding when I last talked to anyone about space finances. Have they consumed our spare cash?) Does anyone (other than me) think this would be a good thing to spend money on? Do you agree/disagree with what I've put on the shopping list?
Robert

Hey hackers :)
It is, as is often the case once a week, Tuesday, so it's 57 North Hacklab
open evening.
If you're a bit of a regular on a Tuesday, see you there, if not come on
along if you can.
We'll be open from around 7:30, at the usual location Suite H, Kettock
Lodge, Innovation Park Campus Two, Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, AB22 8GU.
Hit us back with a reply if you lik, let folk know your plans, or whatever.
Also, if anyone has any ideas for the socials, let me know, been trying to
post something every Tuesday to spread the word, shout out, sort of thing.
I'm not really a big social media fan, any ideas of suggestions would be
ace.

Hi Nick et al.
I shall attend the call next week, from a hopefully quiet room in the
hospital.
Looking forwards,

Hi all,
I won't be able to make it tonight and next few ones due to an titanium man
upgrade in hospital just now.
I may join the next online Friday evening chat, whenever that may be.
Have a great evening,
Wouter

Hi, Hibby.
I'll be in with my Rockpro64 running Debian Bullseye :-)
