Hiya
We were trying to do some laser cutting yesterday with the Trotec laser
cutter. Unfortunately it seems to not really be working just now. I last
did some etching/cutting back at the start of October, but I think it
wasn't working a week or so ago either.
So I was just wondering if anyone has used it successfully in October or
November? If anyone noticed anything different about it or it's software
set-up. If so, please reply & let me know.
It seems to have an issue with the laser not really firing. Kev and I
checked all the obvious things yesterday, with no luck.
Anyway, no trauma, just a quick email to say it's not really working, and
if anyone had thoughts or ideas about it.
Probably best if no-one tinkers with it, or tries to use it, till we've had
a bit of time to try to figure it out.
It's got a wiki page at
https://wiki.57north.org.uk/doku.php?id=projects:laser_cutter
Cheers
Andy
Hey all,
I will be in today as well. My aim is to do some reading up methods to bike
hub dynamos and the conversion of the output (AC 6V 3W) to a power bank.
This seems to be quite a faf, and commercial available solutions in the
bike world are not within my budget...(or I am just too stingy ;-) )
See you tonight.

Hello Everyone
I'll be streaming from Krakatoa on an Owncast instance, from https://stream.krakatoa.bar. If you like some Punk music and can definately tune in, also tell me is you have any issues.
Owncast seems to have good integration with TV's so if anyone wants try it on that.

Hello All
I'll be in probably talking about https://abdn.social, and maybe some DMX Lights.
Also I'd like people to lean how to use the laser cutter and vynil cutter, it is there and if you don't know how to use it, I may not have tome to provide support.

Hiya
With everything now being a bit post-covid, and us planning an AGM in April
next year, it's probably a good time to start looking at any changes to the
hacklab's organisational principles and policies. In practice this is
usually a constant and ongoing process, but we've had a bit of a hiatus
during the covid permacrisis.
So, our organisational principles and policies are outlined in our Articles
of Association, which we keep in git at...
https://github.com/hackerdeen/articles/blob/master/hacklab_articles.pdf
We decided a wee while ago that we'd use Github issues to propose and
discuss changes to the articles. These can also be used to discuss issues
further at board meetings or AGMs.
The "issues" can be viewed, added to and discussed at...
https://github.com/hackerdeen/articles/issues
...there are four issues there just now, nothing earth shattering really,
more just tweaks to help the hackspace run a bit smoother.
From these issues, we'll propose solutions, changes to the articles of
association, which will be implemented as pull requests for modifications
to the articles document. Once everyone is more or less happy with
proposed changes, as per any applicable processes.
Anyways, sorry, it all sounds a bit formal, it's not meant to be really,
have a look and please get stuck in adding comments and raising issues.
Just a bit of an email to explain this process generally and encourage folk
to get involved. Hope this all sounds ok :)
Cheers
Andy
Hey
I'll be along from 7ish, might be a flying visit though, depending on kid
shuttling requirements.
Fedverse node sounds a good idea.
