Another week has gone by,
I need an excuse to debug the new lists because the web archive isn't working for some reason
here's a reminder, and a poem that isn't
a haiku.

Howdy!
We've been talking about this for ages and I think we're just about at
the point in time where we can actually start moving towards using the
new mailing lists over the old ones!
Our new lists are all the same addresses @lists.57north.org.uk, using
that "new" domain of ours.
I'm not going to autosubscribe you as that would be an abuse of your
data, but should you wish to keep a relationship with us you can find
the 3 lists at https://lists.57north.org.uk/mailman3/postorius/lists/
We've got -announce, -discuss and -ctte. All are welcome to join each of
the lists and contribute your thoughts.
We'll be decommissioning this list at some point soon, in a week or
two. I'll send a reminder before it happens.
If you have any issues, reply here or shout on irc!

Hi everyone,
This Friday (19th) is the third Friday of the month and so at 8pm we will
be having the Third Consular Convention for Control & Prohibition of
Pandemics on WorkAdventure/Jitsi [1].
Everyone is invited to turn up, have a few lemonades and shoot the breeze.
This is an informal catchup for 57North members and Scottish Consulate
diaspora around the world; a continuation of our regular lockdown video
calls.
Hope to see you on WorkAdventure this Friday at 8pm Aberdeen time.
Cheers,
Nick

Good meetup last night in the hackspace. Interesting piece of new python
from Rob. Felt much more relaxing there than the time I went to the city
centre space (CTC).
Looking forward to another visit..
Was also interesting spotting pieces of kit that are a blast from the
past, VTnnn terminal?
Lawrence
Hi All,
Aberdeen City remains at protection level REASSURE CRUSADE, which means we can invite all interested to today's OPEN TUESDAY. We typically start around 7.30pm and remain at our location in Unit H, Kettock Lodge, Campus Two, Innovation Park, AB22 8GU.
I'll be be in tonight looking at 3d printing some bits, it'll probably be after 8 as I have some things to do earlier on
If you're coming in today, please send a reply to tell us what's up and when you'll be in so non-keyholders can turn up!
You may notice I have included the new mailing list in cc, the lists at the new domain are working as far as I can tell and can be seen here[0]. I'm looking at migrating fully in the next ten days or so, get subscribed! (there'll be a follow on email or 3).
Now begins the important COVID information transmission, please pay attention and be sure to comply in the space:
We are participating in the Scottish Government's contact tracing programme. You will find purple posters at the entrance to the space and around the space that contain QR codes. Please scan the QR code and provide your contact details. If you are unable to scan a QR code, there is a link to type into your browser. If you cannot use the link, ask someone else to check in for you and provide them with your email address and phone number.
Please note that contact tracing is a requirement of participating in an Open Tuesday in person, and is not negotiable. If you do not provide tracing details you will be asked to leave.
As we emerge from this global disaster, some will understandably be cautious about being in new spaces. Please respect people's boundaries by maintaining social distancing and wearing a mask as you move around the space. If you are sat down, you can take off your mask to have easier access to your face if needed for eating or drinking. Use common sense and remember this is a shared space.
As this event is open to the public, the wearing of a face covering while "not seated, eating or drinking" is a LEGAL REQUIREMENT.
If you are in early, open windows to get air flowing through the space. It could be a good idea to bring a jumper or something as the space could be a little cooler than you might expect because of this.

Evening Hackers
It's tuesday, so open evening at 57North.
I'll be along around 8pm I think. If you're coming in, let us know
here on the mailing list.
We're in some covid level, and there is, as ever, an appropriate
degree of stuff and diligence, as normal.
See you in the space.
Cheers
Andy
Hi friends,
I should be down in the hacklab by 730ish tonight, I've got some printing (2d and 3d) I'd like to do and will fiddle around on other stuff too.
Should you care to join me, feel free, maybe shoot a message to the mailing list!

You may notice I have included a new mailing list in cc, the lists at the new domain are in beta:tm: and can be seen here[0]. I'm probably a crap list admin, please try and break them before we rely on them fully.
