Solidarity is what it really offers'_ Theo Parish DJ & Producer You are all invited to a dance I'm organising with others on Sunday 3rd August between 2pm - 6pm at Krakatoa. Given the dark and challenging times we're in, some may say, going dancing feels odd or even inappropriate. Some may say this is because in our society dancing in clubs or bars often equates to hedonism. But I would say, to dance, is to be human. We've been moving our bodies to music for millennia, long before capitalism commodified the 'dance'. 'We Got The Streets' is my contribution to re-commoning the dance, a space for people to move together, free up stress from within the body, experience some collective joy and energising us for whatever challenges may lay ahead. I look forward to welcoming many of you in Krakatoa on bank holiday Sunday. READING GROUP Online THE MUTUAL IMPROVEMENT UNION Sunday August 3rd 19:00-20:30 BST A reading group collectively selecting short text to read and discuss, the reading could be anything from a news article, blog post, pamphlet to a short play. The space is not available this weekends there is painting happening, we will still be having the reading group online. This reading this week will be The Conspiricy of Law [2] by Howard Zinn The names comes from a similar reading group from the 19th century with the intention to educate the community on socialism and understanding the modern world.
