On a more serious note and with the events in London last week, we are still seeing far-right, racist protests organised in Aberdeen, There is more need than ever to challenge this, and make sure we send a message that this will not be tolerated in here. RADICAL CAFE Meeting Room ABERDEEN SOCIAL CENTRE Saturday September 20th 13:00-15:00 BST Our weekly Radical Cafe, a space to meet and build those connections with local activists, come along for convivial chat, a look at the new books in the swap and shop, and meet other people active in the city. We are also Saddened to hear of the passing of Steven from the Vegan Bay Bakery who supported us so well with cakes every week, our hearts go out to his family, and we'll greatly miss the butteries. So until we source a new supply the cafe will be asking for home-bakes, you can bring butteries, cakes or whatever else you can rustle up for the overworked activists of Aberdeen. MARA CO-OP CEILIDH External MARA'S HOUSING CO-OPERATIVE LTD Saturday September 20th 18:00-23:00 BST Mara Co-op Ceilidh fundraiser event. Tickets are donation-based and pay-what-you-want. Drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and vegan snacks will be available. All proceeds will go to furthering Mara Co-op's aims in the creation of free space and resources for community groups in Aberdeen.
