Hey y’all! We’ve been talking about the plans for the weekend tonight, and the shape we’ve come up with for the weekend is as follows: Friday night! Those who are around are welcome to join us at 7pm, 6 Degrees North, Littejohn Street. Saturday! We plan to be in from ‘after lunch’, let’s say 1pm - we’ll computer and project until we get a little bored of that and drink until the early hours! It’s likely that we’ll do a group order of food, and the hacklab shop is stacked with food, drink and such to consume - please remember to bring money for both. We’d really appreciate it if you brought a donation for the hackerspace too if you’re not a member. We’ve even had offers of a DJ, if you know anyone else who wants to bring music on Saturday evening, direct them my way! Sunday will begin likely the same time, and be a lot more relaxed if and when things happen. It’s entirely possible that members will be in earlier, or could be talked into turning up earlier if you ask on the discuss list - maybe some already have plans to come in early! Open Tuesday, 2022-11-29

Good day beautiful nerds, 'Tis Tuesday once again, so we will have our weekly open night! Cracking weather today, if a bit cold eh? If you've not heard of us, 57North get up to a range of activities on Tuesday nights in our little clubhouse, including (but not limited to) social contact, programming, manufacturing weird things and consuming sugary treats. Typically we kick off at 1930. We're located at: Suite H Kettock Lodge Innovation Park Campus Two Bridge of Don Aberdeen AB22 8GU There's plenty parking, but if you don't have transport get in touch either here or IRC and someone may be able to help you out! If you're new, I'd suggest you bring a laptop, and perhaps a project you want to work on. If you're not new, shoot a reply to the list and tell us what you'll be up to, and maybe consider bringing a friend. If you're coming in before me, please mention! I'll be down for 20:00 or so today, I plan to look at things and tidy. Main goals are to turn that big metal cabinet into a woodstore so it's out the way, please find something that annoys you and give it a wee tidy too in advance of the weekend's party <3 -- Hibby MM0RFN

16th Consular Convention for Control & Prohibition of Pandemics

Hi everyone, This Friday (18th) is the third Friday of the month and so at 8pm we will be having the sixteenth Consular Convention for Control & Prohibition of Pandemics on WorkAdventure/Jitsi [1]. Everyone is invited to turn up, have a few lemonades and shoot the breeze. This is an informal catchup for 57North members and Scottish Consulate diaspora around the world; a continuation of our regular lockdown video calls. Hackerpsace Openday, 8th Nov, 7:30 till Late

Hello Everyone Today is the weekly openday. We Should bo open from about 7:30pm till late at Kettock Lodge in the bridge of don. For directions use https://www.57north.org.uk/contact I'm going to try and be there from 7:30. I would like to discuss the possibility of having a fediverse node for Aberdeen, I do help out as the Aberdeen social centre and would like to see if there is enough interest to run an instance. So I'll be talking about the potential for that. What will the rest of you be up to, remember if you come along for the first time you can bring a laptop or project, it'll help you settle in, or if you are comfortable just chatting. Midder.
