Hi

This looks a good proposal Rob, thanks for the idea and getting all the bits together for it.  Midder, that's great if we can reduce the outlay by members' donations of kit, thanks :)

I think it'll be good, at this point in time, to all have a bit of think about what we could invest space funds in that would benefit the members best.  We have the AGM coming up in about 2 months, and while that's not really specifically related to expenditure or funds, this is sort of a good time to collectively think about future plans and ideas for the space.

There is a bit of a list of tool ideas on the wiki at ...
https://wiki.57north.org.uk/doku.php?id=tools:start
...so I added a link to this thread there too.

It'd be great to hear everyone's thoughts and ideas too.

Cheers
Andy

Hello Rob,

I have a crappy stick welder with tools and PPE, and an angle grinder, that I'd happily donate to the space, but I didn't because the space wasn't setup for this, but working outside is an option.

I don't have screens so they would be useful.

A good pedestal drill would be a good option, or even spend it on a CNC.

Midder.

It's more minimal setup that would actually be good/convenient enough I'd be likely to use it rather than going out to parents and borrowing kit they've got. Less self centred approaches to deciding what we should get would be welcome :)

I'd really like a better/cheaper option for curtains/screens; those look pretty flimsy, and I don't like idea of spending ~1/5 of budget on them but I haven't yet found anything better.

Have they consumed our spare cash?) Does anyone (other than me) think this would be a good thing to spend money on? Do you agree/disagree with what I've put on the shopping list?
