I have requested to join, filled in the application form and I have yet to
hear.
Given I have given the hack space a lot of equipment and materials and got
you this space with AAD I feel a little rejected.
Best regards

Subject: [57north-announce] Tidy Sunday - 16th April 2pm
Hi Y'all,
After the AGM we spoke about our general displeasure as a group at the state
that the hackerspace is left in and agreed we'd come in this weekend to set
a baseline of cleanliness - this will hopefully help us build a more
welcoming, more encouraging space for people to come and visit.
Going forward, it would be really helpful if we all try and observe the
departure procedure on the wiki [1] when we leave. I know it adds some time
to the trip (or, alternatively, digs into hacking time) but it helps make
workstations, the carpets and our general tooling much easier and more
friendly to approach. I've been just as guilty as everyone else of leaving
my toys out 'as I'll just be back tomorrow to finish' and then coming back a
fortnight later having forgotten entirely and taken up 2 spaces at the
social tables! Critically, if it's not working, the process can be
updated/refined.
On Sunday, the key items I'd like to smash out (in rough order of
importance) are:
* Vacuum of all carpets
* Empty bins, consider if current bin organisation makes sense given our
standard waste
- Assess our volume of glass bottles and appropriate disposal
* Clean and tidy of all table surfaces and workstations.
* Manage cabling/wiring/equipment at all workstations to make them
approachable and usable
- Assess what the role of each workstation is, and try to remove
extraneous objects to help it be more usable. Maybe document them on the
wiki.
* Look at our various logical areas and consider whether equipment stored
there can be moved and/or better labelled.
* Relax and enjoy the fruits of our labour.
Critically what we don't want to do is throw out active member projects or
hide anyone's toys! If there's anything else to add to the todo list, pipe
up on -discuss and we can throw it on!
As a side note, our cleaning and tidying wiki page [2] is out of date, help
and documentation there would be much appreciated!
